Christian Nourijanian's playing style has been described as a "lyrical" and "playful" personality on the piano. He is an accomplished Jazz pianist who is fluid in many styles including pop, groove and gospel. Christian also branches out to the Hammond Organ, and Synthesizer Keyboards as well.
Christian has been improvising and composing at the piano since the age of eight. His curiosity of harmony and melody lead him to the sounds of Duke Ellington, Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, and The Beatles.
At the young age of 23, Christian has had the opportunity to play music with many masters including David Liebman, David Glasser, Charlie Persip, and Rogerio Boccato. Christian was raised in Stony Brook, Long Island and has been living in New York City for over five years and has performed at many different types of venues including, The Apollo Theater, Steinway Hall, The Garage, Rockwood Music Hall, SOB's, Moldy Fig Jazz Club, Fat Cat, and Groove.
Christian graduated from The New School for Jazz with his Undergraduate Degree and is currently finishing his Master of Music Degree from Manhattan School of Music. At these institutions he has had the privilege to study with many great musicians including Aaron Goldberg, Justin DiCiocco, Garry Dial, Mike Ledonne, Phil Markowitz, Armen Donelian, and Gerard D'Angelo.
As an educator Christian has participated in clinics in New York public schools and currently teaches an after school piano lab in addition to having a small private studio of students.
Currently, Christian is becoming an in-demand sideman in New York and is a member of numerous different groups with his peers. With his constant drive, and love for music, his focus is to play with others and continue to develop his art.
